Guides & Comparisons
Head-to-head comparisons and where-to-start guides that cut across categories: massage gun or foam roller, chair or standing desk, what to buy first.
These are written for the moment before the first purchase, which is where most of the money in this field gets wasted. The pattern is familiar: a sore lower back leads to a massage gun, the gun helps for a fortnight, then comes a cushion, then a chair, and eighteen months later the desk is still 5 cm too high and nothing has changed. The first purchase is usually the cheapest one that would have worked, and it is almost never the one people make.
So each guide starts from the situation rather than the product. Stiff in the morning and fine by ten is a different problem from sore by four in the afternoon, and they point at different shelves. One of them is often a mattress or a pillow question. The other is almost always a desk question.
We also publish the comparisons where the honest answer is that the cheaper item wins, or that neither is worth buying yet. A firm roller and five minutes covers a lot of what a percussion device is sold for. A footrest and a monitor riser cost less than a chair and fix the thing the chair was being blamed for.
Where a guide relies on a figure, it names where the figure comes from. We do not run a test lab, so where the evidence is a pattern in owner reviews rather than a measurement, the guide says that instead of dressing it up. And where a symptom belongs with a clinician rather than a shopping list, it says that too, because plenty of them do.
