Short answer: There is no shared posture corrector size chart. Posture Medic sizes from your height and weight, BackEmbrace from a tape measure just under the bust (women) or the pecs (men), and Swedish Posture from your t-shirt size. Use the chart of the brand you are buying, and if you land between two sizes on an elastic brace, Swedish Posture’s own advice is to take the smaller one.
Most first orders go wrong because the buyer assumes a medium is a medium. It isn’t. Below are the charts three brands actually publish, copied from their own sites in October 2026, plus a calculator that reads the Posture Medic and BackEmbrace charts for you. If you haven’t settled on whether a brace is the right tool for what’s bothering you, our posture corrector guide is the better place to start.
Posture corrector size calculator
Type your height and weight for the Posture Medic size. Add the tape measurement under your bust or pecs to get the BackEmbrace size as well.
Posture Medic sizes come from the height and weight grid on the size guide at posturemedic.com.au, the same for Original and Plus. BackEmbrace sizes come from the size guides on backembrace.com product pages: women measure just under the bust, men just under the pecs. Other brands use their own charts, so treat this as a check for these two, not a universal answer. Nothing you type leaves this page.
Posture Medic size chart
Posture Medic does not ask for a chest measurement. Its size guide is a single grid of height against weight, and the same grid covers both the Original and the Plus strength. The company says about three in four people start in the Original. Here is that grid, grouped by height:
| Height | XS | S | M | L | XL |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4’8″ to 5’0″ | 70 to 110 lb | 121 to 141 lb | 150 to 170 lb | 180 to 209 lb | 220 lb and up |
| 5’1″ to 5’3″ | 70 to 90 lb | 99 to 141 lb | 150 to 170 lb | 180 to 209 lb | 220 lb and up |
| 5’4″ to 5’5″ | none | 70 to 132 lb | 141 to 170 lb | 180 to 209 lb | 220 lb and up |
| 5’6″ to 5’8″ | none | none | 99 to 160 lb | 170 to 209 lb | 220 lb and up |
| 5’9″ to 6’0″ | none | none | none | 99 to 209 lb | 220 lb and up |
| 6’1″ to 6’4″ | none | none | none | none | 99 lb and up |
The grid stops at 240 lb and at 6’4″. If your weight falls in a gap between two columns, say 215 lb at 5’7″, you are on the line between L and XL, and the honest answer is to email Posture Medic with your height, weight and chest before ordering. The calculator above flags those cases instead of picking for you.
BackEmbrace size chart
BackEmbrace sizes by one tape measurement. Women measure just below the bustline, men just below the pecs. Stand normally and keep the tape snug against a thin shirt without pulling it into your ribs.
| Women’s size | Under the bust | Dress size | Bra band |
|---|---|---|---|
| XS/S | 24″ to 31″ | 0 to 4 | 28 to 34 |
| M/L | 32″ to 37″ | 6 to 10 | 36 to 40 |
| XL | 38″ to 47″ | 12 to 16 | 42 to 48 |
| Men’s size | Under the pecs | Shirt size |
|---|---|---|
| M/L | 32″ to 37″ | Small to Medium |
| XL | 38″ to 47″ | Large to XL |
There is no men’s XS/S. A man under 32 inches below the pecs is off the chart and should look at the women’s XS/S or a brand with smaller sizes.
Swedish Posture sizing
Swedish Posture skips the tape measure entirely. For the Flexi brace you pick your usual t-shirt size, so a medium t-shirt means M/L, and the brand says that if you are between sizes you should choose the smaller one. The ReAlign brace works the same way: S-M if you normally wear S, M-L for M, L-XL for L. Both are elastic braces meant to be worn up to three hours at a time.
Between two sizes: smaller or larger?
It depends on how the brace holds you. An elastic brace like the Flexi only works if it stays under light tension, so a loose one does nothing and the brand’s advice to go smaller makes sense. A strap brace with buckles or long velcro tabs has more adjustment built in, and a size that’s too small is the one you can’t fix: it digs into the armpits and squeezes the ribs. For those, the larger size tightened down is usually the safer return risk. Either way, check the return window before you cut tags.
If you don’t want to deal with a chart at all, an adjustable one-size brace trades a little precision for a much lower chance of a wasted order.
ComfyBrace Posture Corrector
Adjustable straps cover a wide chest range, which helps if you’re unsure between two fixed sizes.
- Fits from a 30-inch chest upward on the strap adjustment alone
- No size chart to interpret, which is the whole reason to pick this route
- Close to 47,000 people have rated it, so at least the fit complaints are well documented
How long should you wear it once it fits?
Getting the size right is only half the job. Our guide to how long to wear a posture corrector each day covers the ramp-up that keeps a well-fitted brace from leaving you sore anyway. A correctly sized brace worn all day on day one still tends to leave the shoulders achy, so solve fit first, then wear time.
Rounded shoulders specifically?
If rounded shoulders from a desk job are the actual problem you’re solving, our piece on posture correctors for rounded shoulders covers brace styles suited to that pattern. No fit advice replaces fixing what’s causing the rounding, though. Our ergonomic desk setup guide is worth a look if you haven’t touched your monitor height in a while.
Verdict
Use the chart of the brand you’re buying: height and weight for Posture Medic, a tape under the bust or pecs for BackEmbrace, t-shirt size for Swedish Posture. Between sizes, go smaller on an elastic brace and larger on a strap brace with plenty of adjustment.
Frequently asked questions
Where is the Posture Medic size chart?
On the size guide page at posturemedic.com.au, published as an image. It sizes XS to XL from height and weight, not chest, and the same chart applies to the Original and Plus. The table above reproduces it grouped by height.
What size Posture Medic do I need at 5’6″ and 150 lb?
Medium. On their chart, M covers 99 to 160 lb for anyone from 5’6″ to 5’8″. At 5’9″ the same weight moves you to L.
How do I measure for a BackEmbrace?
Women wrap the tape just below the bustline, men just below the pecs. Under 32 inches is a women’s XS/S, 32 to 37 inches is M/L, and 38 to 47 inches is XL. Men’s sizes start at M/L.
What size CoreCare posture corrector should I get?
Use the chart on the listing for the exact model you are buying. We could not find an official CoreCare chart to reproduce here, so we will not guess its numbers. Have your chest, height and weight written down before you open the listing.
Can men and women use the same size chart?
Sometimes. Posture Medic uses one unisex height and weight chart. BackEmbrace publishes separate women’s and men’s charts because the measuring point differs, under the bust versus under the pecs. Check whether the brand you want splits them.
What happens if I order the wrong size?
A brace that’s too small usually chafes under the arms and feels tight across the ribs on the first wear. One that’s too large won’t hold enough tension to do anything. Most sellers take back unworn items, so keep the packaging until you’re sure of the fit.
Should I measure over clothing or against bare skin?
Over a thin t-shirt or base layer, whatever you’d realistically wear it over. A thick sweater can add an inch or more, which is enough to cross a size line on the BackEmbrace chart.
